What better way to get ready for St. Patty's Day then by spray painting a chandelier green! A friend of mine showed me this fun Murano Chandelier. I immediately fell in love. I didn't want to spend a ton of money though, so I turned to my good friend... Craigslist, who did not disappoint. I found a chandi for $60. I wasn't expecting to find anything that I liked, needless to say I was ecstatic when I found this one! With a little green spray paint, I got the look I was going for without breaking the bank.

Before spray painting I sanded the chandelier down with a low grit sandpaper, just to get the shine off. Then I taped the top of the sockets and taped around the wires. The paint I chose has a primer in it so there was no need to prime. If you use a regular paint you might want to prime it first. Then I just did a lot of thin coats. I would suggest using a fabric drop cloth rather than plastic. The cloth won't stick to whatever you are painting like the plastic will.
I bought this Ceiling Medallion at Lowes for $10 and spray painted it white.
Then we hung the chandi up, which was probably the hardest part of the whole project.
I'm so happy my friend, Kirsten, gave me this idea! I love color and this pop of green makes me smile every time I see it!
I thought these views were kind of cool!
